SSGBusIntell Reporting

SSGBusIntell is a “business intelligence” reporting and analysis methodology that puts the power of the data into the hands of the business user.

This approach takes raw data from your ERP application and presents it in a way that can quickly and easily be analyzed and reported by the business user. It takes I/T out of the reporting loop.

SSGBusIntell provides solid, concise reporting coupled with flexibility. This product fills gaps where standard reporting is missing, plus it enhances existing application reporting.

Using standard desktop tools, business users tap into a 'single source of the truth' to make decisions and evaluate performance.

SSGBusIntell Overview

The SSGBusIntell application is great for reporting history and is the best tool to create Exception and Audit reports that enable timely response to various business situations.

SSGBusIntell provides the solution to get to the data. It supplies a set of basic reporting and analysis tools covering a broad range of requirements. Using the standard reports, customized reports can quickly and easily be created.

Approach

SSGBusIntell uses commonly available tools in conjunction with your ERP data. MS-SQL, Crystal Reports and Microsoft Excel are the foundation to create reports ranging from simple to complex. This approach supports I/T development of customized reports, as well as end-user reporting.

There are five main components to SSGBusIntell:

Standard SSGBusIntell Reports

Queries are used to extract data from the ERP application. Our knowledge of the table structure allows us to create sets of data that are make sense to the business user. The output format of these queries is used to feed the MS-SQL database. The SSSGBusIntell tables are designed for the business user and are quite simple and easy to understand.

Crystal Reports is the preferred report writer because of its flexibility and power. Crystal is excellent for I/T development and is also a good choice for a small number of business users who want to master this tool. From the standard reports, company-specific reports can easily be derived, and there are many report writing classes held for those who want or need to develop custom reports.

A/P Uninvoiced Receipts Reconciliation

Reconciliation of Accounts Payable uninvoiced receipts, sometimes referred to as GRNI, is frequently a daunting task. It is one that can be quite time consuming and difficult because the data is always changing. As a sub-set of SSGBusIntell, the UninvoicedReceipts analysis tools were developed. This set of tables combines selected SSGBusIntell tables, adds new tables and bundles them with standard queries to provide all the pieces needed to answer the What and Why of uninvoiced receipts.

Executive Information System

The Executive Information System (EIS) is another sub-set of the SSGBusIntell database. Reports are designed with management requirements in mind. The EIS reports provide a high-level, graphic view of various functional areas such as Sales, Manufacturing, and Finance.
